1st Test Rawalpindi December 01 - 05 2022
England recovered from 145-5 to end with a 50-run first-innings lead on the third day of the first Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi.
The tourists added 103 runs to their overnight total of 263-8, with Will Jacks hitting 44 and Mark Wood adding 25 not out.
Pakistan then reached 21-0 before bad light stopped play early on day three.
England had looked set to concede a first-innings deficit when they lost five wickets for 40 runs either side of tea.
However, Jacks and Wood shared a 74-run stand for the eighth wicket to frustrate the Pakistan bowlers.
Pakistan's bowlers had earlier toiled hard on a flat pitch, with seamer Naseem Shah taking 4-88 and spinner Abrar Ahmed claiming 3-174.
The match is finely poised heading into day four, with England looking to build a substantial lead and Pakistan determined to fight back.
